A marvelously executed re-framing scenario for moments when “the world stops making sense.” It essentially sees the cognitive breakdown of weaponized narrative as merely one symptom in an upheaval of terrifying magnitude climaxing extremely soon. For example, this scenario includes a collapse of the Deep State in three to five years. Efforts by the “serious” folk in Washington and elsewhere are described as laughable. Also flushed are The Washington Post and the New York Times in the next two to four years. The final battle between the Blue Church and the Red Church has the Red Church probably winning, resulting in a new order unprecedented in history. And *soon*. The only solution is a network of genuine friends who care for you at risk to themselves. Greenhall certainly can and will be criticized for presenting such a high-impact/low-probability scenario as an inevitability. But the redeeming virtue, as a scenario, is that he does give early-warning indicators of how one would know if such a future might actually be coming about. These are useful, apart from their chilling entertainment value. An extremely difficult scenario to get out of one’s mind as one read’s the headlines. JG
